As of today, I feel as though my project has surpassed my expectations. Going into this project I envisioned students being told to find topics of interest and express their knowledge and findings through different modalities, however when looking back at my students’ progress I am noticing they were able to take the challenge to a whole new level. My students loved the idea of being able to present their findings in their own fashion without being restricted. I have found that my students were quite into acting, singing, painting, recording and creating pieces of art. I have posted a few pictures below to provide evidence of their experiences. What was quite rewarding in this experience was the teamwork that was involved. At the very beginning of the year I noticed students wanting to work on their own or work with a good friend of theirs, however based on the number of activities they have come across in math and science they were able to build a sense of ownership and assign roles to each other. I truly enjoyed watching my students in action. There were times in which they were struggling with a concept or struggling to work with each other, however they learned not to confront me about it rather they worked together to resolve their problems and trudge forward.
